Khartoum / Port Sudan - 30 October 2025
Renewed violence in El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, has sparked international alarm as reports emerge of large-scale attacks on civilians, hospitals, and aid facilities. The Rapid Support Forces (RSF), locked in a prolonged conflict with the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), have been accused of committing atrocities that have displaced thousands and deepened Sudan’s humanitarian crisis.
Against this backdrop, the Sudan Chapter of the Nasser International Forum has issued a strong condemnation of what it described as “grave violations and atrocities” committed against civilians in El Fasher following the latest RSF assaults.
In a statement released on Thursday, the Forum expressed deep outrage over the deliberate targeting of civilians and humanitarian infrastructure, calling the attacks “a flagrant breach of international humanitarian and human rights law.” It added that such actions constitute war crimes that must not go unpunished.
The Forum urged the United Nations, the African Union, the League of Arab States, and other international partners to take urgent measures to protect civilians, ensure humanitarian access, and hold those responsible accountable.
“We call for an immediate ceasefire, the opening of humanitarian corridors, and the protection of displaced persons and vulnerable groups, especially women and children, in line with international humanitarian obligations,” the Forum said.
Reaffirming its solidarity with the Sudanese people, the Forum appealed to all national stakeholders to prioritize dialogue over violence and to work toward a comprehensive and inclusive political settlement that restores peace, stability, and unity to the country.
“Sudan’s territorial integrity and social fabric must be preserved,” the statement concluded. “We stand with every effort aimed at ending the suffering in Darfur and throughout Sudan.”
