The African Union (AU) and the European Union
(EU) have strengthened their partnership since 2008. The partnership covers areas
such as peace and security, democracy, human rights, development and a sustainable
economic growth among others.
To enable hasten this synergy the two sides have recently
organized a street art competition that would enable them being the people
together. The street art that participated African and European street artists
have attracted a number of attraction. The four winners of the competition (Mohammed
Awudu of Ghana, Edoardo Trionfera of Italy, Maria Peña Coto of
Spain and Wesley Van Eeden of South Africa) have printed their works on
the street walls of Addis Ababa, the capital of Africa.
Mr. Thomas Huyghebaert, Coordinator of EU Delegation to AU in an
interview with African View indicated that the ‘Street HeArt- two continents,
One Beat’ program has enabled to visually express unity in diversity and
partnership of the two continents.
