India –Africa ICT Expo 2023 to Boost Relations

India and Africa have a long standing relation that stretches across multi sectors. The ICT Expo that is going to be held for the 8^th time is expected to share experience and knowledge among African and Indian telecom companies.

During a press briefing at the Embassy premises today, Representatives of Indian Business personnel, higher officials with the Ministry of Innovation and Technology (MiNT) and Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Association (AACCSA )have given a joint press briefing in view of the upcoming Expo.

According to Dr. Eng. Abiot Sinamo, CEO of National Electronic Government Development with the Ministry of Innovation and Technology, such expos are vital to promote the innovative and technological advancement strategy that the government is undertaking. Dr. Eng. Abiot added that the expo is an ideal platform for local innovators to promote themselves and acquire knowledge and forge partnership.

Mr Arun Gupta, Director General, Telecom Equipment & Services Export Promotion Council with the Embassy, stated that India has advanced experience in the telecom sector and is ready to share its advancements in the sector with African partners. He said this Expo is the beginning of multi-faceted relation between African countries and India in the technology sector.

Zekarias Assefa Deputy Secretary General with AACCSA said that his office is doing its level best to promote businesses and investments in the country among local and international counter parts. And as such, he added, this ICT Expo will have three main pillars which are- Indian and local companies will display their products; there will be a conference where knowledge transfer will transpire and the platform will also encompass B2B between Indian and Ethiopian Companies.

The embassy on the occasion stated that previous Expos have been fruitful in forging partnerships and this one will not be an exception. It is stated that the India –Africa ICT Expo 2023 which will participate six African countries will take place at Skylight Hotel from August 9 -10, 2023.
